TRAINING: We generally start out running or riding the bicycle first thing in the morning for a half hour and then we alternate between running hills or bicycle work. Then we get to some weight training for two or three hours. I have a bar routine that I generally put him through, which is light weights and lots of reps, which works the entire body. I then put him through some sprint work. Then we come back in the evening and we’ll go to Mick Doyle’s place and he’ll do his strength training, wrestling, and boxing. He’s generally putting in six, sometimes eight, hours a day. (Curly Alexander)

When and why did you start training for fighting? I started because I love to fight and love competition, but I felt that the ring and Octagon would be a better test for my skill. The gym keeps me disciplined and shows my kids that there is a time and a place to fight, and why it is important to stay disciplined, healthy and focused.
